Volkswagen Navarra will increase its production volume in 2024: it will manufacture 15,500 more cars

While Ford postpones investments in electrification and sows more doubts about Almussafes, Volkswagen Navarra has set a productive program for 2024. 271,901 cars, of which 28,663 belong to the Polo model, 103,583 to the Taigo and 139,655 to the T-Cross PA. In total, they represent 15,500 more cars than the last program announced for next year.

This Friday, the factory management presented to the works committee a proposal regarding the annual calendar for the year 2024derived from the needs of both the industrial project for the transformation of the factory towards electric vehicles and the social needs of the workforce, as explained by the UGT union section in a note.

As discussed in the meeting, Production would begin on January 8, establishing January 2, 3, 4 and 5 as Industrial Day. April 2, 3, 4 and 5 would also be designated as Industrial Day.

He vacation period is established from July 5 to August 2. From this date, the Industrial Day days would begin until August 13, and the 14th, 16th, 19th, 20th and 21st would be designated as closing days pending agreement.

Differences between workshops

Within this block, a differentiation is established by workshops due to the exceptional situation derived from the emptying and filling of the different warehouses. In the Sheet metal warehouse A complete emptying is planned due to the magnitude of the works, in addition to the fact that the length of the downtime means that a large part of the putties that are applied to the bodywork cannot be applied and without completing the process, UGT explained.

In the painting ship A change in the lacquer application robots and a change in the tipping carts is planned, which means leaving many facilities and transits empty. In the assembly hall, the interventions are diverse. The largest ones are dividing the external chain in two and undertaking an important part of the modifications of group A, such as the automaton that controls the assembly transport, added UGT.

On the other hand, the management has raised the need during August 14, 16, 19 and 20 to request volunteer staff to be able to put the factory into operation due to all the modifications that are going to be made during this period. Finally, December 23 would be established as a local holiday.

UGT has explained that it has taken up the proposal made by the company, which has remained pending analysis, and has made several requests. Specifically, in relation to the closure days, he has requested that from August 5 to August 20 be a block of collective inactivity, “understanding that regardless of the character given to these days, they are immovable days.”

If these days were finally defined as ERTE, or ERTE REDUGT has demanded that they have special treatment and that anyone who voluntarily works during these days (August 14, 16, 19 and 20) have additional compensation.

Staff pick

In another order of things, UGT has requested information about the status of the staff pick which is being done through Adecco. In this regard, the management has reported that on November 2, Adecco enabled the page to be able to register, and on November 13 it was disabled because the volume of registrations had reached the figure of 3,200 applications.

The process consists of three online phases: filter questions, video interview and skills test. Once passed, a final in-person manual dexterity test is carried out, which began this Monday the 13th with the people who had passed the online process.

In addition, the management has reported that the hiring of some of the personnel who have been selected through Adecco has already begun, to cover the December day groups, and that these personnel begin training next week.
