Vía Ágora is one of the 15 real estate companies that have already registered the carbon footprint of their organization (Scope 1+2) in the Carbon footprint registration, compensation and carbon dioxide absorption projects from MITECO. Of these 15, only two registered the carbon footprint of their organization in 2021.
In total, 2,597 companies from different productive sectors have registered this data, of which only 15 belong to the group of “real estate activities”. Vía Ágora has registered the carbon footprint of the last two years, 2020 and 2021. The 2020 carbon footprint was 15 t CO2 eq and 0.6 t CO2 eq per person. In 2021, the organization’s carbon footprint increased by one point, 16 t CO2 eq, but it was reduced to 0.2 t CO2 eq per person.
The calculation of the carbon footprint is voluntary and generates great environmental, social and economic benefits. Among them, it is worth noting the fight against climate change, the reduction of energy costs and the improvement of energy efficiency.
Following this calculation, Vía Ágora is carrying out an improvement plan with two priority objectives, reducing its total carbon footprint and improving its energy efficiency. Since 2020 the company already consumes 100% renewable energy and is currently working on optimizing the air conditioning system, lighting, and other sustainability measures.
With an eye towards a future that is more respectful of the environment, the promoter bases its mission on design and create functional spaces from sustainability designed to improve people’s quality of life.
