Grupo Antolin has won the prestigious Plastics Recycling Award Europe 2022 award for its sustainable roof for the interior of the vehicle. The multinational received the award in the category of Automotive, Electrical or Electronic Product of the Year.
This award recognizes the first roof substrate on the market produced through a hot forming process of different materials (polyurethane, fabrics and reinforced plastics). obtained from urban waste, post-consumer plastic waste and end-of-life tires. Thanks to this project, which is already being produced for the Volvo C40 Recharge, a fully electric SUV, Antolin manages to reduce waste and energy consumption during the manufacture of the product and satisfy the demand for sustainable interiors for vehicles, something increasingly valued by the consumer in their purchase decision. This successful project is the result of a collaboration between Grupo Antolin and other second-tier suppliers.

Jointly organized by Plastics Recyclers Europe (PRE) and Crain Communications, the winners of the Plastics Recycling Awards Europe 2022 were announced on June 23, the second day of the Plastic Recycling Show Europe, held at RAI Amsterdam. These prizes offer insight into the best developments in the use, product design and innovative manufacturing of recycled materials.
